eduKnoppix sostanzialmente è Knoppix (7 lettere) + edu (3 lettere) ovvero coincide con il famoso CD "Knoppix" con in più alcune funzionalità che lo rendono più adatto all'ambiente education italiano.

L'equazione 7+3=10 rende bene l'idea: il piccolo "3" (cioè cioè il nostro piccolo contributo: edu) aggiunto al substrato "7". La proporzione reale è in realtà di gran lunga inferiore al 30 percento sottinteso dalla formuletta, ma i numeri 3, 7, 10 hanno un che di magico e non abbiamo saputo resistere alla tentazione di utilizzarli!
